Marketing Communications

ACCEPT THE CHALLENGE

Markets are full of chatter: people talking, listening, knowing, believing, linking, and liking. Or maybe not liking. No matter, one thing is always true: Those who fail to deliver a credible message miss opportunities. Therefore, be sure to choose a well-founded communication approach. Determine your target groups, messages, and opinion markets with consideration and passion. And rely on an agency that allows you to assume your role and position in the long term.

STAY ON THE BALL

PR on demand is a mere flash in the pan, and a lack of communication will not go unnoticed. Such signals to the market are no clear messages, mere information is not a context that can be understood, and “more with Social Media” does not equal targeted measures. We will only succeed in convincing others if we continuously take the right approach: with integrity, inspiration, intelligence, and intensity – ‘in4real’, so to speak.

BE PERSISTENT

Your company is an export champion, an industry leader, a niche expert, a market leader / follower / disruptor? Very well, since we have worked for such companies before – not least because we are well-suited for new tasks. Why? Because they require deeper thinking, which is what we like to do. If the customer is especially observant – we welcome that! Time and time again, such cooperations have achieved long-term success – our best calling card.

Team Player

Michael Otto (* 1965)

learned the trade of toolmaker. Following his apprenticeship and years of employment and study to become a graduate in business administration, he began work in classic management consultancy. After a senior management position in the industry, he joined Carapetyan & Krämer in 1997 (managing partner since 2002).

Ingolf Doler (* 1966)

is a dyed-in-the-wool journalist. After completing a degree in journalism, history, and political science, and following years of employment as an editor, he entered the industry as a press spokesman. He has been with Carapetyan & Krämer since 2000 (managing partner since 2002).

PROJECT OPERATIONS

At Carapetyan & Krämer, experienced and result-oriented “ambassadors” work together with clients for the common cause. The second generation of owners come from inside the company and are fully involved in the project work.

WELL-ESTABLISHED TEAMWORK

Consisting of the partners and employees, most of which have been with the agency for a long time, the experienced team bears testimony of an exceptionally stable, continuous development. All core disciplines are staffed in-house. The team is completed by international on-location partners who have been cooperating with C&K for many years.

SKILLS FOR SUCCESS

All members of the current C&K team contribute experience from a cross-section of previous posts outside the agency sector – in industry, journalism and publishing, or from creative or consulting roles. Their education and expertise are correspondingly diverse and well-founded.

WHO WE ARE

Carapetyan & Krämer is a well-established, owner-managed agency for marketing communication and PR with a strong focus on technological topics. Our customers, most of which have been with us for many years, often are among the market or technology leaders in their respective fields. We offer them comprehensive consulting and support for B2B, B2C, and corporate communication. We enjoy a good reputation in the media due to our journalistic approach.

ARE YOU A GOOD FIT FOR US?

You do not shy away from technological topics such as labelling machines, drive technology, roller bearings, hammer drills, tool technology and mechanical engineering, or industrial printing systems.
You like to get to the bottom of complicated matters. And you enjoy developing stories based on technological facts, arousing the curiosity of journalists, gatekeepers, and influencers – as well as researching testimonials and finding topics. Experience in corporate publishing is a plus.
You are a team player who can work independently and strives for personal responsibility. Your top priorities are quality, service, and customer satisfaction – even under deadline pressure.

YOUR OTHER QUALITIES

You should already have proven your ability to write precise, clear, and appealing texts – for instance as an editor, freelancer, or trainee for a newspaper, magazine, press office, or agency. You have an excellent command of English; other languages are welcome.

ORIGINS

In the early 1980s, Peter Carapetyan and Jochen Krämer worked for Burson-Marsteller, a major international PR firm. Like many others in big companies, they wanted to quickly establish their own agency, aiming for agility over size. Their target was the strong Central European market with its pent-up demand for “below the line” marketing. Being free to devise creative attacks in this field held a special appeal for them.

THE FIRST …

In 1982, they started out, initially with two major customers, one of which we have been supporting continuously since then. Besides a considerable volume of orders, these international customers brought about a steady transfer of knowledge across country, market, language, and cultural borders – inspiration throughout their time at C&K. In 1997, Peter Carapetyan moved back to the United States. Jochen Krämer now lives in France.

… AND NEXT GENERATION

In 2002, in a management buyout, he handed the reins to long-term employees including Michael Otto and Ingolf Doler. By then, “new” media had been challenging the status quo for some time – initially just because they were new, but increasingly legitimized through their real added value. Today, what is needed is a calm look at the media mix, assessing established and disruptive players strictly according to their potential use. Either way, it is always worthwhile to consistently focus on content – and with C&K, you can be sure of that.
